This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, process, and protect information when you visit our website at https://weresume.cloud, our web application at https://app.weresume.cloud, or use any related tools and services (collectively, the "Service").

2.1 Personal Information You Provide

Account Information: When registering, we collect your email address, encrypted authentication password, and account creation timestamp.
Resume & Document Data: Text you enter into the editor, such as your full name, phone number, address, work history, educational achievements, skills, portfolio links, and profile photos if you choose to upload one.
Support Communications: Content of messages, inquiries, or support tickets sent to our team at support@weresume.cloud.

2.2 Payment Information

All billing and payment transactions are handled directly by our Merchant of Record and payment gateway partner, Polar Software, Inc. ("Polar"), and card networks. WeResume never receives, processes, or stores your raw credit card numbers or security codes (CVV) on our servers. We receive only non-sensitive transaction tokens (such as payment status, customer ID, order ID, and expiration date) to activate your Pro subscription pass.

2.3 Technical & Usage Information

When you browse our website, our servers automatically record basic technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages viewed, solely for diagnostic security and load balancing.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information exclusively for legitimate business purposes:

To render and compile your ATS-compatible resume files into downloadable vector PDF and JSON formats;
To execute requested AI bullet rewriting, keyword matching, and cover letter drafts;
To authenticate your login sessions and synchronize your saved documents across devices;
To process billing transactions and provide customer receipts through Polar;
To detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud, technical issues, and security vulnerabilities.

4. Zero AI Model Training Guarantee

We believe your professional career history is confidential. When you use our Pro AI features:

Your resume text is transmitted ephemerally to private enterprise AI endpoints via TLS 1.3 encryption.
Your data is NEVER stored, retained, or utilized by us or our AI infrastructure providers to train, fine-tune, or improve public artificial intelligence models.
AI generation prompts are discarded immediately after delivering your requested bullet points or cover letters.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to recruiters, advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks. We share data only with trusted infrastructure sub-processors essential to operating our Service:

Polar Software, Inc.: Merchant of Record for payment processing, tax compliance, and checkout security.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) & Cloudflare: Secure cloud storage (S3), static hosting, and DDoS protection.
Legal Compliance: When required by law, subpoena, or lawful government request, or to protect the safety and property of our users.

6. Data Security & Retention

We employ industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect your personal data, including AES-256 database storage encryption, strict role-based access controls, and TLS 1.3 encryption in transit.

We retain your resume data for as long as your account remains active. You may delete individual resumes, cover letters, or your entire user account at any moment directly from your Dashboard settings. Upon account deletion, your stored documents are permanently purged from our primary database.

7. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following statutory rights:

Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Right to Rectification: Edit or correct any inaccurate personal data in your account profile.
Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request the complete deletion of your personal data.
Right to Data Portability: Export your complete resume content in structured JSON format.
Right to Withdraw Consent: Stop using the Service and cancel your active subscription at any time.
